Grace in Grief: When You Feel Emotionally Exhausted
Grief is not just sadness. It is emotional exhaustion. It wears on your heart, your mind, and your spirit. You may feel tired even after sleeping. You may struggle to concentrate or make decisions. You may feel like your emotional tank is empty, and even the smallest things feel overwhelming.
This kind of fatigue is real. It is not laziness or weakness. It is your soul working hard to process something heavy and ongoing. And God sees it.
“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” Isaiah 40:29 (NLT)
You do not need to push yourself harder today. You do not need to fix how you feel. God is not asking you to have more energy or to pretend you are fine. He is simply offering rest. He is offering Himself as a safe place.
If your heart feels numb, He understands. If your thoughts feel cloudy, He is patient. If your spirit feels dry, He is still near.
Let your tiredness be what it is. Let your emotions come and go without judgment. Your healing is not dependent on how much you can do, but on how much you are willing to receive His care.
Breathe slowly. Let the tension in your body soften. Tell God how tired you are, even if you have no words — He hears the language of the soul.
Today, let this be your prayer: God, I am worn out. Please hold me where I cannot hold myself.
You are not expected to carry this alone. And you are not expected to carry it all today.
