Everyday Promises – 112

My Spirit

And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Ezekiel 36:27 NIV

When Jesus was about to returned to heaven he promised to send his Spirit to help, comfort and guide his children left here on earth. It was at Pentecost that this divine care began and the Spirit of God is still being given to all who believe in Jesus. It not only surrounds us but we can invite the Spirit of Jesus into our hearts and minds. It is there that the Spirit transforms the believer. Galatians 5:22-23 says ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.’ So as we are filled with God’s presence, we are empowered to live Godly lives even in a world of sin. Fill your life with the fruit of the Spirit today.
