I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high. Luke 24:49 NIV

The incredible gift of the Holy Spirit was promised to the followers of Jesus when he went back to heaven. To help us understand the unity but diversity of God we can look at water as an analogy. Water can be in three different forms; solid , liquid and gas yet they are all water. So with God, he can be Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit of God that can be omnipresent. So it was He that was needed to bring the presence of God into each of our lives. His work is to lead us into truth, convict us of sin, comfort us in our sorrows and give us strength to witness and have the fruits of the Spirit in our lives. The disciples were to wait in the city until the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost. We too can have the Holy Spirit in our lives. Do you want power to live for God? You only have to ask and it will be given.
