Is anything too hard for the Lord? … Genesis 18:14 NIV
This question comes from the story of Abraham and Sarah. God promised that even though Sarah was past the age of childbearing she would have the son of promise. Although she laughed, it came about just as God said. Because nothing is too hard him. My shoulder was aching incessantly. I could not lift my right arm above my waist. The Doctor sent me for a scan, it revealed a torn shoulder muscle called the supraspinatus. The Dr. said I would have to have an operation to fix it. I didn’t want an operation. So, I tried to get it better myself. I had a cortisone injection, and it did not improve, I kept it in a sling with very little use for 5 weeks and I went to physio, but all these things failed to make any difference. I rubbed arnica and comfrey into my shoulder morning and night, and I prayed every day that God would help my shoulder heal. It seemed that everything had failed. Soon I had an appointment with a specialist and had to have an MRI. I awaited the results and made my return to the specialist. All the while I kept praying that God would help me not to have an operation. When I sat in the specialist’s office, he looked at the MRI results and then said, “Something strange has happened here, you no longer have a tear in the supraspinatus.” I looked at him with joy in my face and said, “That’s God’s doing.” My shoulder got better from that time on. Nothing is too hard for God. He is able, and we need to trust him with all our troubles.
