… For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 1 Corinthians 15:52-53 NIV

This promise tells of a truly remarkable event to take place at the end of time, when Christ shall appear in the clouds. Then a total transformation will take place in his people, both the living and those resurrected when he calls. Just like metamorphosis, we will be changed from mortal and perishable, to immortal and imperishable. Despite current beliefs the Bible is clear that we do not possess immortality before Jesus comes, if that were so, we would not need changing on that last day. Just like the change that occurs in the life of a butterfly, we will be changed from a caterpillar into a glorious butterfly. What an incredible day that will be. Don’t give up waiting – for he will definitely return soon to redeem his children.
