Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:14 NIV

In many countries of the world a family member must go to the well to collect water. It is part of their survival routine, as vital as breathing. When thirst is satisfied people can go about their daily living happily. When talking to a woman who came to the village well at midday Jesus said, “but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14 NIV  There is nothing in this world that satisfies the deep longings of the soul but Jesus. He is the water of life. He alone can satisfy our deep inner needs. We must drink deeply at his well every morning to remain satisfied. One of my favourite authors wrote: Consecrate yourself to God in the morning; make this your very first work… This is a daily matter. As we drink at the fountain of love our hearts will be filled with the Holy Spirit and we will feel the joy and assurance that only God can give. Are you thirsty?
