If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Guilt weighs heavy on us. It sucks joy from our soul and cripples our heart. It also builds a wall that shuts out God. We don’t have to live in a prison of our own making. We don’t have to live burdened by evil things we have done. No matter how heinous the crime, or foul the act. Jesus died upon the cross to pay for our sins, and his forgiveness is free. This promise tells us how to open the door of our prison. We must go to Jesus, acknowledge our wrong, and ask him to forgive us. God has the power to wash away sin and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.
