Minute Meditations of Hope and Encouragement #5

We are not to look for any marks, evidences, signs, or tokens as a ground of salvation. Neither are we to look for any progress in grace or advancement in piety as evidence of salvation. We are to listen only to proclamation of gospel from the cross and accept the divine decree, “Father forgive them,” “It is finished!”

These are the greatest words your heart will ever hear. Your salvation is finished, you are “complete in Him.”(Colossians 2:10) You have the ’Righteousness of God, which the law demands,(2 Cor 5:21) ‘in Christ’ if you are there. If you are in Christ, then understand that the doctrine of substitution is the pith and marrow of the gospel. Now see your position, the perfection required by the law is fulfilled because “Christ is the end of law for Righteousness” Rom 10:4

Our Passover lamb has been slain “For Christ died” our perfect substitute, (Heb 13:12.) Jesus is our Passover lamb (1 Cor 5:7). Our Righteousness is finished because we are “Complete in Him” Eph 1:3. Our substitute is slain; our priest has gone within the veil the blood has been sprinkled we ARE clean. We are saved by works, but not ours; His. It is the work of a moment! We are accounted as perfect, on the basis of His righteousness that is credited to our account. (Romans 4:1-4)
