Day 6 - How to Make Your Soul Float

Let’s take a moment today to float our souls.


Pause the racing thoughts. Pause the endless noise.


Let’s liberate our hearts from the weight of worry so that we can glide like a feather in the wind – even if just for a few moments.


The thing with anxiety is that it removes you from the moment. You can’t be present. Anxiety either drags you backward, into the past. Or it shoves you forward, into the future. What you miss out on then, is today. The magic of the now, unfolding all around you, just waiting for you to notice and be with it.


So in the next few moments, let’s let go. No more heavy weights holding us down. It’s time to levitate. 🙂 


Wherever you are, take a deep breath and turn your attention to the sensations in your own body.


Start with your toes. What do you feel? Linger there for a while. There’s no rush. We are pausing.


As we pause, we notice. We tell anxiety, “no more”. No more wallowing in the past. No more dreading the future. Just the now. Feel the soles of your feet. Sense the cool floor or soft fabric beneath them. Slowly move upwards to your legs. Feel the pressure or the lightness. Notice them. Notice your back as it rests against the chair. Notice how it feels. 


Breathe deep. Really deep. Let the air fill your lungs. Hold it for 5 seconds, then release slowly.


Repeat.


Notice your stomach. Is it tight and flexed? Relax it. Imagine it melting away. Release all the muscles. Then breathe deep again.


Move up to your shoulders. What do you feel? Are they tense? Breathe in, and as you exhale let them melt as well. You are here. In this moment. Nowhere else.


Notice your jaw and neck as well. Your fingers and arms. See them. Feel them. Then, let them rest.


There is no need to rush this. You can do this exercise for 3 minutes or for 10. It’s up to you. But when you are done, notice how you are here, in this present moment, floating in the magic of the now. 


The moment you are meant to occupy. 


You belong here, in the enchanted fields of today. 


Embrace this moment. Don’t judge it. Just be with it. Relax into it. And smile.
