The comb-crested Jacana is a lotusbird that has long legs, and extra large feet which enable it to walk safely on waterlily pads and aquatic weed. The mother lays the eggs but the father does all the work; nest building, incubation and care of the chicks. The most beautiful thing about the male Jacana is his ability to pick up and hide his chicks under his wings. If the chicks are in any difficulty or danger he can pick them up and carry them to safety. Our loving Father has mighty wings where we too can hide from anything that troubles our heart or threatens our peace. He is waiting to enclose you in his care.
