“Dear Father, prayed George, “we thank you for what you are going to give us to eat.” At that moment a knock came on the door of the Ashley Downs Orphanage and a baker stood there his cart loaded with bread. Soon another knock was heard and the milkman offered all the milk in his truck, as it had broken down right out front. God provided for 10,024 orphans through the lifetime of George Muller. George never asked for money but looked to God to provide. Jesus, in his last discourse with the disciples promised his born-again children that he would not leave them as orphans. That promise is for us too. Not limited by a human body, the Holy Spirit is sent to each believing child so that we can have the personal love, protection, provision and care of our Heavenly Father.
