Everyday Promises – 116

restoring your health

But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord, …’  Jeremiah 30:17 NIV

This promise was first spoken to the Jewish nation who went into Babylonian captivity. They were starved, whipped, miss treated and struggled to survive. In this verse God is promising their restoration. We too are in a place of captivity. We are bound in chains to the Shadowlands of Sin. God is loving and caring to his children here, often healing illness and wounds of body and heart. We must follow his directions about health and pray as the Bible instructs us when someone is ill, for Jesus is a God of Miracles. However, in Revelation 22:2 it talks about a tree that spans the river of life flowing from the throne of God. It has different fruit for each month of the year and the leaves are for the healing of the nation. Even if God does not heal us in this world, he will in our new home. We will be restored to full perfection in body and mind. Don’t lose heart – a new day will dawn for you.
