Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV

Like a tiered waterfall in a cool forest glade, so the comfort that God lavishes on us is to be passed on to those we meet. It is not until we suffer hardship ourselves and find our help and encouragement in God, that we can empathise with those who suffer. God in his tender mercy allows our trials to help us form characters that will reflect the love of God to those who are hurting. God has promised you his comfort, but he would have you share that blessing with others.
