The Gift Of Life

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV

At three months, Andrew (not his real name) was diagnosed with Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a rare genetic condition affecting both liver and lungs. He was in and out of hospital and in 2018 he was placed on the liver transplant list as his condition had deteriorated. His parents waited anxiously, as their little boy grew worse. At last a call came from the hospital. A liver was available. The transplant would take place immediately at the Royal Children’s Hospital. The operation was a success. Sadly, someone had to die so that Andrew could live. It was a gift of love from the donor family that gave Andrew life. We too have no hope without the gift of salvation. Jesus did die so that we could have life. It was because of God’s great love that he sacrificed himself for us. Go to God and accept his gift today so that you too can live.
