God's good work in you
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 NIV
Living in a world of sin means meeting daily challenges. It is through our struggles that God is at work restoring the image of God in our lives. No matter how often we fail, this promise assures us, that God loves us and will never give up on us. He offers all we need to complete the work. As this lovely abridged poem describes so well.
God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.
