I don’t want a matchbox God! As a young woman I was involved in street preaching. I was often challenged by people who could not believe in God or miracles. I would refute their scepticism with these thoughts. If God isn’t beyond my understanding and cannot do what no human can do, then he is not a big enough God for me. If he is not far above human beings in every way and is not omnipotent, omnipresent, infinite and everlasting I don’t want or need him. I have seen miracles that cannot be controverted and changed lives that cannot be denied. This verse is a promise to me that I have an awesome God, one past finding out. How incredible that such an all-powerful God is willing to be intimately involved with me and stepped into time to redeem me. I can rest safely in the arms of such a mighty God, and so can you!
