“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. Isaiah 1:18 NIV
I just love snow! On a recent trip to Norway I was able to experience the beauty of living in and not just visiting the snow. It changes the landscape, hiding the scars with a blanket of soft, white, spotless beauty. It seems to hush the world into an unsullied peace. How wonderful that God offers to cover our sins, like snow covers mud and rubbish. Jesus offers us his untarnished, white robes of righteousness instead of our filthy, sin-stained rags. He doesn’t force us to accept salvation. It is our choice to accept or reject his great mercy and goodness. There is nothing quite as magnificent as the pristine snow and there is nothing that surpasses the peace and happiness of being forgiven and right with God.
