Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 NIV

I once heard the story of a lovely dog bounding around a backyard in pursuit of a shadow. The dog seemed confused because every time he pounced on the shadow it floated away. No matter how he tried he couldn’t catch it. In truth, the dog missed the reality, for above him was a butterfly fluttering around the garden. The dog was only chasing its shadow. God doesn’t want us chasing shadows in this dark world. None of the shadows will bring the happiness you seek. The true reality is God. He dwells in unapproachable light. He created the world. He loves you. Jesus stepped into time to redeem everyone who accepts his salvation. The Father longs to pour out the bounty of his spiritual blessings on you. So look up and accept his gifts.
