Everyday Promises – 190

SUFFICIENT  GRACE

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (first part)  2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

God is able to do his greatest work through our weakness. He used two little old ladies, Betsie and Corrie Ten Boom in Holland to save Jewish lives, shine a light in Ravensbruck concentration camp and bring about healing for thousands of people after the war. God is using Nick Vujicic, a man born without arms and legs to touch thousands of lives around the world with a message of hope in adversity. He used blind Fanny Crosby as she wrote uplifting hymns that have impacted thousands for Jesus. And God has used Joni, a quadriplegic woman, who has shared the love of God and brought hope to thousands. He could use these dear people because in their weakness they relied fully on God. We, who have no evident weaknesses, are in the greatest danger of being unusable by God. The emptier we are of confidence in our talents and abilities, the more God can fill us with his power. Relying on God is our only way to be really effective and our work lasting. Ask God to fulfil his promise and make you perfect in weakness.
