The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14 NIV

Like the children of Israel on the banks of the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army in hot pursuit, we often feel we must face problems alone. Moses assured them that God would do the fighting. Ps 37:8 reminds us, “Do not fret, it leads only to evil.” When we ask God to help we must learn to then stand still and let him work. There have been times when I have asked God for help but if he didn’t respond instantly I began to fret, to worry and soon try to solve the problem myself and that invariably makes matters worse. It is my experience that God works at the very last minute. We must do all we can to live wisely and then lay our worries and difficulties before the Lord. There is no issue or circumstance too hard for God. He cares about every tiny detail of our lives, and knows all about us, including how many hairs on our head. So pray, be patient and trust. God will not let you down.
