Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.  2 Timothy 4:8 NIV

There is a judgement coming for everyone living and dead. Everyone will have to answer, before God, for deeds they have done. How is it that Paul, the author of the promise today could say he would receive a crown of life? He persecuted the followers of Jesus, he had people thrown into prison or killed. He was proud, arrogant and evil. What was the catalyst? Paul met Jesus. Jesus has the power to forgive all offences. Jesus died to pay the penalty for our deeds of darkness. When we choose Jesus and make him Lord of our Life, the Bible tells us that we pass from death to life, from condemnation to freedom. What an incredible exchange happened at the cross. The Lord’s purity and perfection for our sin and shame. We can have that crown of life because of what Jesus has done. Praise God! So choose Jesus everyday, walk with him through this life and long for his appearing. He has a crown of life waiting for you!
