With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Isaiah 12:3 NIV
In the book Fear Was The Pursuer by Goldie Down, Marie and Lennard are forced to flee Russia at the time of the Bolshevik Revolution. Their escape route goes across the Gobi desert. Even with their guide, at one point they were so desperate for water that they couldn’t go on. Marie prayed earnestly that God would help. After sundown they discovered a silver line across the sand and it was a thin ribbon of water. Making a depression in the sand the water gradually filled the dip and they were slowly able to water their horses and fill there water bottles. It saved their lives, and they eventually achieved their freedom. We too will die out in the desert of this world without the lifegiving water of salvation. This well never gets dry, for Jesus is the water of life. Those who go to him will be filled with the joy of salvation.
