It is true that God always keeps his promises. He is forever faithful and trustworthy, however sometimes we do not see the promises fulfilled in our lives because we get waylaid by foolishness and sin. It reminds me of the waterways and locks that crisscross England. The little canal boats can only travel successfully up and down the rivers and canals if the locks are working. The locks are like stairs that help the boat reach the water level needed as the topography changes. The boat pulls into a lock, the huge doors enclose the boat, the water level is raised or lowered and then the doors open and the boat can continue on. If the doors don’t open there is no progress. Bad choices are like a breakdown at the lock. It can stop our progress and the flow of blessings God wants to bring into our lives.  Keep your focus on the Lord and see the promises of God enrich your life.
