The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11 NIV

The tears rolled down my Mum’s face as she did the dishes that evening in the little caravan home. My dad had just left, never to return. The shock of seeing him with another woman and knowing that her marriage was over and the children were her entire responsibility, shattered every hope and dream. The tears dripped into the dish water as she prayed. Her hushed sobs and pleading ended with the words “Oh God, what am I going to do. I have nothing to live for.” It was then that she felt a hand on her shoulder, and a voice said. “Live for the children.” Startled she swung around to see who spoke but no one was there. In telling me this story she said, ” I heard no other words but a deep assurance filled my heart that God would be with me.” My faithful little mother needed every bit of strength to get through the dark days ahead but God was there, leaning over his precious child helping her to successfully meet each difficulty. God is grieved by our sorrows and touched by our pain. He longs to give us the strength and peace we need to get through every problem. Remember you are not alone with your trouble, God cares and will give you the strength and help you need.
