He will guard the feet of his faithful servants, … 1 Samuel 2:9 NIV
Peter Marshall once took a shortcut across the moors to the village of Bamburgh. As night settled in, it was inky and starless. Although he knew there was an old quarry in the area he was sure he could avoid it. Suddenly he heard someone call his name. He stopped and answered. “Yes, who is it?” He listened for an answer but could only hear the eerie wind. Sure he was mistaken he began to walk again when an urgent voice cried out, “Peter!” He stopped dead still, and tried to see before him. On his hands and knees he felt the path in front of him, only to discover the edge of the quarry. Just one more step and he would have fallen to his death. God was there to guide the feet of this faithful man. God has promised to guard our feet from the way of destruction. We too are walking in the dark shadows of this world. Listen to Father God, for he knows what is best for you and longs to safeguard your soul.
