There was a time when I was sure that God had forgotten me. I never doubted that God died for everyone, but I had ceased to think he cared for my personal life. My long-term situation reached a crisis and I found myself alone, with a dead and withered heart. Yet God was there. One Bible Scholar suggests that the word ‘follow’ in this promise should probably be translated as ‘pursue’, thus reading; “Surely your goodness and love will pursue me all the days of my life.” After my marriage breakup God persistently demonstrated that he was there, that he cared, and that I was valuable to him. How amazing is the relentless love of God. He is pursuing you too. He does not want you to lose heart, no matter what you face. You are precious to him. He cares for you. So don’t give up.
