Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18 NIV

 From his infancy Jesus was tempted, tried and harassed by the evil one. The Bible tells us clearly that he did not fail us and sin. He lived a perfect life for us and died a pure sacrifice on our behalf. No wonder this verse promises us that Jesus is qualified to help us meet temptation and trouble. He has been over the road before us. We alone cannot resist temptation. We are to use our will and God’s power to gain the victory when Satan tempts us to do wrong. From the time of our first commitment to God, the Devil tries to impede our walk with the Lord. We are not to be afraid as we walk life’s path. Jesus bends over us with tender regard, offering his strength and fortitude in our most dire moments. We only need to call on his name and he will draw near to help his children.
