In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. Romans 8:26 NIV

 

There are times in our lives when the pain we are experiencing is so deep that we don’t have the words we need to pray. When our heart is so numb that we hardly feel alive, and our thoughs are in the deep freeze. At those times it seems impossible to utter more than just a sigh. But our loving Heavenly Father knows every sorrow, he sees every tear, he hears our heart when our voice will not work, and he does that through the intercession of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we need to pray with greater understanding than we possess, for wisdom and guidance to make right decisions. The Holy Spirit can ask the Father for just what we require, for he knows our hearts and needs better than we do. No matter what we are struggling with, God has made provision through his Spirit, to empower the voices of his children. How blessed we are.
