The mighty power of God

“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun(Israel), who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. Deuteronomy 33:26 NIV

The ferocious flames ate up the small, thatched home of the Native Pastor. He and his family where kneeling in the centre, asking God to protect them. Vicious fighting had been raging around their home for months. The powerful witchdoctors of the area were determined to sweep away Christianity. This faithful pastor could have run away but felt that God wanted him to stay. Savage men chopped at the side of the burning house revealing the praying family. Because of the heat they retreated, sure that the family would perish inside. The witchdoctors gloated as the hut burned to the ground. Later, they instructed their men to bring out the charred corpses. After a careful search they could find none. A month later, the district director, Pastor John, was at last able to enter the area, not sure if he would find anyone alive. As he entered the village the Native Pastor ran to meet him, informing him that God had sent two shining beings to pick up the family and carry them to safety. We have a mighty and wonderful God. Nothing is too hard for him. We can be sure that whatever we must face in the future, is in the hands of the living God. He can strengthen us to face persecution, or he can rescue us. Put your trust in him.
