At Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance, on Remembrance Day, our nation pauses to reflect on the sacrifice and courage of those who fought in past wars. At 11am, on the 11th day of the 11th month, each year, a natural ray of sunlight shines onto the stone shrine within. It illuminates the inner sanctuary and reminds us that many have laid down their lives to preserve freedom. Our promise today informs us that we are like the Shrine of Remembrance. The Saviour of the world gave his life to redeem us from eternal death. When we accept his sacrifice the Holy Spirit, like that beam of sunlight, shines into our lives. That light enters the heart of man only by invitation. Do you want to be filled with the light of God? It is up to you. Ask Him today.
