Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I… Isaiah 58:9 NIV
One day 11-year-old Kimberly and her family went to a church out in the country. She was standing outside with her friend Deanna and her 2-year-old brother Johathan when they saw a dog in the distance. Kimberly called it and it came over. As it walked closer, she saw it had some white foam around its mouth. He seemed friendly at first but then started shaking, frothing at the mouth, barking wildly and growling. Deanna grabbed Johathan and ran inside the church, leaving Kimberly alone. Fear gripped her and she stood frozen to the spot. Too scared to turn her back on the dog, she prayed desperately. Immediately a voice in her head said, “Scream.” So, Kimberly screamed as loudly as she could. The dog immediately turned and ran. God saved Kimberly from a rabid dog that day. He can save us when we call on him for help too. He loves his children and says, “Here am I.”
