… I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Hebrews 8:10 NIV
When God writes his law on our hearts it is not a list of do’s and don’ts but being filled with God’s love. The commandments are divided into two parts, the first four are to show us how to love God with all our heart. The last six are to show us how to love our neighbour as ourselves. You can see that love demonstrated in the lives of people who love others, like Mother Teresa. “In 1946, Mother Teresa felt she heard the call of her inner conscience to serve the poor of India for Jesus.” She had open arms for the untouchables; poor, blind, homeless, naked, crippled, hungry, lepers and any one unloved and uncared for. Matthew 25:37-40 NIV says, “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Jesus welcomes into his kingdom those who accept his salvation and live a life of love. Let God write that love into your soul, so you can share it with others, and be eternally blessed.
