Have You Filled a Bucket Today? is a delightful picture book by Carol McCloud that describes how every person in the whole world carries an invisible bucket around with them. Our bucket contains good thoughts and feelings about ourselves. To sustain mental health, we need to have the bucket filled every day. It is the people we live with, and associate with, that either fill or dip into our bucket. Fillers add positive words and deeds, dippers hurt and bully those around them. No matter how your bucket is at this moment, God is the great bucket filler: He says, I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, come unto me and I will give you rest, you are mine, you are my treasured possession, and I am your refuge and strength. Let the Lord pour his love into your heart and then be a bucket filler for others.
