The Bible is clear that there are only two kingdoms to which the human race can belong. The Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Light.  Satan’s kingdom of darkness is our default setting, due to Adam’s rebellion. There is a stark contrast between the ethos and goals of the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. The constitution of God’s kingdom of light is based on love. He desires his children to reflect the qualities of love by demonstrating patience, kindness, humility, mercy, and compassion. In fact, 1 John 4:8 says Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. Our promise today assures us that as we live a life of love and faithfulness it will bring us into favour with God and man. It will truly enrich our lives.
