As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. Psalm 18:30 NIV
I once had a boss who valued the parents but deprecated the teachers. He considered their work and opinions as inconsequential. His dream was to have a modern school with open plan classrooms. No amount of discussion could change his mind. Without doors, and few walls between our classrooms we knew it would be incredibly challenging for students to concentrate and teachers to be heard. The new design was such that each class had collective workspaces directly outside their room. We finally moved into the new building, and I did my best using my free-standing cupboards to provide a more secluded workspace for my children. I knew I would soon face his scorn at the arrangement of my furniture as other teachers had done. I prayed earnestly that God would somehow shield me. The day came when he walked into my class. He looked at me, looked at the room, then without a word turned around and left. I know that God gave me a place of refuge that day. Don’t be afraid to ask him for help if you need a place of refuge. For he cares for you.
