Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things… 1 Chronicles 29:12 NIV
In Biblical times people often believed that riches were a sure sign that you had the blessings of God, and poverty, that you were cursed. Jesus himself turned that idea upside down when he said to his disciples, …it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to be saved. (Mark 10:24) I began life in poverty and have never been very rich, however I consider myself blessed by God for he always provides what I need. Wealth really comes in many forms, not just the jangle of coins in your pocket. A clear conscience, restful sleep, love shared, strength to meet the day, the appreciation of beauty, caring family, good health, loyal friends, empathy, and peace are all forms of wealth. God has abundantly enriched my life with this sort of wealth. I know that he blesses each of his children because he is the ruler of all things, and his pockets are big. He loves to pour blessings on us. James 1:17 says Every good and perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father of heavenly lights… Look around and see blessings he has poured out on your life.
