The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19 NIV
One of my all-time favourite books is The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. It is full of gut-wrenching tragedy but also incredible insights into evil, human desperation, and the wonderful love of God. It demonstrates how our Sovereign Lord can enable us to tread on the heights even at the darkest moments of life. Corrie and her sister Betsie were imprisoned at Ravensbrück Concentration Camp for hiding Jews in Holland during World War 2. The light of God’s word shone brightly in that place of horror and death because Corrie and Betsie were able to rise above the atrocities through God’s strength. They could even count lice and fleas as blessings. With God’s help they were a living demonstration of how to love your enemies and care for the suffering every day. Through God’s strength you too can live on the heights despite the difficulties you face. Spend time with Jesus and view the world from the mountain tops.
So true, 2 incredible women and their father.
They had such great Faith and determination to do what God asked from them. I,do think, how mire you follow the Lord the greater the Blessings become. Not that you don’t suffer.
