“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19 NIV
Our family was shifting states, jobs and schools. We thought it a good time to fly to NZ to visit friends and relatives. We travelled around the North Island, making sure we visited Lake Waikaremoana, a very beautiful place in the Hawkes Bay area on our journey. While there, my youngest son developed some strange blisters around his waist. They were incredibly painful. We visited a doctor. He said that it was shingles and could offer no better treatment than Nurofen. We then headed to a friend’s place for the weekend. Nurofen did nothing to touch the pain and my poor boy writhed in agony. I began to pray and kept vigil long after everyone was asleep. I prayed and prayed. Eventually, I said to God, “Why are you not answering my prayer?” He said to me, “Your Son must pray too.” So, I asked the sleepless boy to kneel with me and we prayed fervently that God would heal his shingles. About midnight my son fell into a restful sleep, waking at last about 11am next day. I immediately asked him how he was. He said, “Mum the pain is gone.” It never returned. How good God is, and he taught me a lesson spoken of in this promise. Where two agree… There is power in praying together.
