Despite my struggles with reading, spelling, and essay writing, I felt guided to return to school and managed to pass year 12, even after three years of employment. Every day I earnestly sort God’s help, yet what unfolded was beyond my wildest dreams. In a youthful pledge, if I got through, I vowed to attend Avondale College, a Christian institution for aspiring ministers and teachers, without considering the financial burden that would be impossible for my family to meet. Miraculously, that same year, the Whitlam Government removed tuition fees for teacher training at universities. Teaching had never crossed my mind before, but it seemed to be my destined path. At Avondale, I not only excelled but discovered a profound love for teaching, which blossomed into my lifelong vocation. It’s a testament to the belief that God can do immeasurably more than we can imagine, for he knows our deepest desires even before we do.
