He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;…   Psalm 91:4 NIV

I have heard stories of the amazing love of a mother hen, where she will hide her chicks under her wings and be burned to death in a raging bushfire but the chickens underneath have survived. That is a picture of our incredible, loving God. He took the punishment for our sins on himself, when he died on the cross. He took the fire for us. All heaven was poured out there to save us. It was there that we first found refuge in the arms of Jesus. If we remain there, he will continue to care for us when trouble comes to our lives. There is no safer place than being covered by the wings of our Father God. We can run to him when difficulties assail us and he will shelter us with his feathers.
