Everyday promises – 81

TEST ME IN THIS

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:10, 11 NIV

Several church members came to Pastor Gonzalez and asked “What shall we do? We will have nothing to eat for the winter if the plague of grasshoppers eat all our crops.” Pastor Gonzalez asked if they had been paying their tithe. “Yes,” was the reply. “Then we can claim his promise to help.” Side by side the men of Liberia, Costa Rica knelt and prayed as the locusts marched toward their fields along the ground. Looking up they saw that the grasshoppers were still coming. So again, they prayed. Then the men stood to watch what the locusts would do. Sure enough, right at the edge of their fields the locusts divided, marching right and left around their crops and continued on eating everything in their path. God gives the health and strength to make money, but he asks us to give back 10% of our increase for the care of the ministry. Do not be afraid to take God at his word, for his promises are true. If you are faithful to him, he will be faithful to you.
