Everyday Promises – 93

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,  who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Psalms 128:1,2

When my siblings and I were children, we lived next to a cherry orchard. Every December we went to the orchardist and asked if we could pick cherries to make money for Christmas. Of course, Mr. Mags, being a kind man, said yes. So, we were allowed to pick cherries for the day. I picked industriously without eating any as I went. When our boxes had as much as we could carry, we would take them to be weighed and collect our pay. But Mr. Mags was incredibly generous for he didn’t just give us the money we earned; he would always give us more. In addition, he always gave us a huge bag of cherries to carry home to our mother as well. Mr. Mags was a little like God. When we walk with the Lord, he gives us what we labour for and much more besides. He always blesses us abundantly. Live within his will and see how extravagant God can be.
