Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV
It is often said that in the face of danger, people either fight or flee. As someone who prefers to avoid conflict, I contemplated quitting teaching when a new Principal arrived and nothing I did seemed right. By mid-year, the situation had become unbearable, but fortunately, I was set to embark on a caravanning holiday through the outback of Australia. Amidst the expansive wilderness, one can’t help but feel inspired by the grandeur of God. I vented to God about my untenable situation and expressed my frustrations. Having been called to teach by God, I sought His permission to leave and pursue a different path. I dedicated considerable time to prayer and studying the Bible. God instructed me to return, to be strong and courageous, to concentrate on my classroom, and to avoid other entanglements. This guidance filled me with strength and tranquility. Upon my return, my colleagues noticed the peaceful aura that enveloped me. With God’s support, I thrived even under challenging conditions. Remember, no matter the obstacles you face, there is a mighty God who can embolden you and illuminate your path. Seek Him, and He will guide you.
