Following The Evidence #114

Thank you for being on this journey of evidence with me. I hope it has increased your faith as it has mine. I pray that you have the absolute confidence in the existence God that I have. I am a person that needs evidence. When I was into Eastern Religions and other philosophies, as I searched for meaning, I was disturbed by the lack of evidence. When I was doing Biology at university I was bothered by the assumptions and great leaps of blind faith that the evolutionary theory requires. I hope you can now see that my faith has a solid foundation and, at times, when doubts creep in they don’t find anywhere to hang themselves, because all the hooks are full of the evidence that I have shared with you over the last 3+ months. I shared with you previously why I love theology because theology is faith seeking understanding. My faith has a solid foundation based on the evidence from Science, Mathematics, Biblical Prophecy and especially the evidence for Jesus being who He claimed to be and the evidence for His resurrection, which gives me the ultimate hope in moments of doubt.

I was going to finish at this point, but upon contemplation decided I would spend a little time discussing “The Lies People Tell About God.” I hope therefore, that you will stay with me just a few more weeks. Jesus said that lucifer was the father of lies (John 8:44). It was his lies that seduced 1/3rd of the angels of heaven into rebellion. I find it important then, to help expose these lies.

What is coming next? In class at school and over the years of preaching and teaching in churches I have accumulated a lot of stories. I have often told ‘The Children’s Story’ at church. If I preach a sermon, I know that the stories and illustrations are probably the only take-a-way that most will remember. So, I am going to do a series on “My Favourite Stories and Their Lessons.” I’m thinking of calling it “Stories to Live By.” (any suggestions for a title?) Sometimes they are my stories but mostly they are stories that I have gathered over the last 50 years. I only like true stories. As you read this, I am already well into writing the new series.

You will be automatically included in this roll on unless you opt out. I have found this to be easier than asking folks to re-enrol and then finding they ‘forgot’ and want to jump back in along the way.
