Following The Evidence #68

Yesterday we considered the work of Dr Peter Stoner Former Chairman of the Departments of Mathematics, Astronomy and Engineering at Pasadena College in California. With 600 mathematics students they had worked out the sheer impossibility of one man being able to fulfill 300 Old Testament prophecies purely by chance. His conclusion, “It is proof of the Bible’s inspiration by God–proof so definite that the universe is not large enough to hold the evidence. Any man who rejects Christ as the son of God is rejecting a fact proved perhaps more absolutely than any other fact in the world.” (Peter Stoner in ‘Science Speaks’ 2016) (For more details on this evidence from Dr Peter W. Stoner, you can read just his chapter entitled, The Christ of Prophecy , or you can read his entire book, Science Speaks , online.) You can go to this site and find the 300+ prophecies listed from the Old Testament: https://www.bibletimelines.net/articles/is-jesus-really-the-messiah

Ask yourself , “was the Jesus of the Bible who He claimed He was? Was He really God’s Son? Was Jesus the Messiah?” What then will you do with the evidence? Jesus had no control over things like where, when, and how He was born, or where He was buried just adds to the available evidence that He did not just work to make sure that all of the prophecies were fulfilled so that people would believe Him to be the Messiah. C.S Lewis made a proposal and then Josh McDowell expanded on it. Jesus claimed to be God. Was He mad, deluded or truly who He claimed to be? When you examine the evidence, you have to conclude that it is true, then there is only two things you can do, accept or reject it. This is a life and death matter. You can live and die and never know why or you can take God’s offer of eternal life. God said to the Israelites as they left Egypt, ”I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have placed before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So, choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,” (Deuteronomy 30:19 NASB). You are the master of your own destiny; the choice is yours to make. The blessing is not just a better life here and now but eternal life in a world without its curse. The curse is death, a hole in the ground, eternally forgotten.
I’m not done, the evidence gets even more astounding.
