Place innocence and merit and dignity and position and Godhead itself in the scales of the law and then conceive what must have been the inestimable value of your own soul for which Jesus poured forth His blood. They thought to scorn Him, but they lifted His name on high. They thought that God was dishonoured when He was most glorified. They did but break the alabaster box and all the blessed drops of infinite mercy poured forth to perfume all worlds! They did but rend the veil and the glory which had been hidden between the cherubim shone forth upon all lands.

All earth & heaven – all time and eternity, things present & things to come, visible and invisible, they are but dim mirrors of the Godhead compared to what Christ revealed in His broken heart upon the tree of calvary. The heart of God you will see nowhere, as at Golgotha, where the word of God reveals the justice and the love, the holiness and the tenderness of God in one blaze of glory. Calvary shows how God’s love is so vast that it fills the entire universe. Calvary is a demonstration of God’s love for you.
