We may put our hands on our heads and say, “how did my life get to this point.” God will say, “now that you are here let me show you what I can do with the situation.” The promise of the rainbow is not found in cloud free days but after the storm. Psalm 27 – One of David’s earliest psalms was written when he was a refugee in the wilderness. We are making our own way through the wilderness of this world which, like this psalm portrays life as made up of mountains and valleys. ” The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident… For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock… Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I’ve never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence… Wait patiently for the Lord . Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. (Psalms 27:1
