When we look back on our time on this planet it will all seem like one bad night in an inconvenient hotel. It will seem like a single bleep on the radar screen of the universe. A dot in infinity. After the second coming, when our solar system is burned as Peter says, and we are travelling to wherever Heaven is, maybe through the Andromeda galaxy, it will seem like the faint flare of match in the distance. 2 Peter 3:10-12 (NKJV) “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?” …Yet for this burned-out match God sacrificed Himself!
The problem of pain has no solution until God recreates our world as described in Rev 21-22. We need to refocus our lives on eternity. We need to centre our lives on Calvary and Christ. The immensity of eternity lies before us. Don’t let the cares of this life weigh you down and pull you back. Picture yourself somewhere out in the Andromeda Galaxy watching the fulfilment of 2 Pet 3:10.
