1440BC Moses is 120 and has been summoned by God up Mt Nebo. These were part of his last words to Israel before his death. Deuteronomy 33.27 “the eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms and he will thrust out the enemy before you…” I often place these words on cards for those going away or for those who are experiencing difficulties. It is part of his “blessings and cursing’s” monologue. This speech (written on a scroll and read to the congregation numbering millions) also contains one of the first Old Testament texts that I memorised 45 years ago when I surrendered my Life to God at the age of 20 Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that you and your seed may live.” From the top of Mt Nebo Moses was shown the Promised Land. When we choose life over death (through Jesus) we also will be shown the Promised Land. Eternity is our choice to make, our goal – life or death.
