How will you know when you have reached the point of salvation? You can reach that point right now if want to. Jesus Christ is a fact; Calvary is a fact. You see that’s just it – you don’t have to feel saved; you don’t have to looked saved, you don’t have be anything, or buy anything. You have to believe you are saved and the moment you do you are, because you have been! It is a gift and faith is the hand that receives the gift – remember the children and the Freddos?
Can you see it – don’t sit there trying to be saved, you are saved the moment you commit your heart and soul to God. Accept it and walk in it. Baptism becomes the outward sign of the inward condition of someone who has accepted the gift and surrendered their life to Jesus. Baptism is the wedding ceremony for the Christian. The centre of baptism is that the baptised person is identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. (Romans 6:3-11). When you go down into the water you are saying to those witnessing, that you have accepted the death of Jesus as having been for you personally. When you come up out of the water you are, in effect, saying that you believe in the resurrection of Jesus and that therefore, if He has power over His own death, then He has power over yours. You can know you are saved when you have accepted all this personally and acted upon it. “Those that believe and are baptised will be saved.” Mark 16:16
